P.R.E.S.T.I.G.E. is ontstaan als side-show tijdens de open atelierdagen van de kunstenaarsorganisatie Nucleo Gent in 2012.
We willen het initiatief in 2016 verder zetten met dezelfde groep als uit het prille begin, nl Nicoline van Stapele en Kristof Van Heeschvelde, uitgebreid met anderen, Alice Copers en Joris Vermassen. Op regelmatige basis willen we tentoonstellingen organiseren op verschillende locaties binnen en buiten de landsgrenzen. De locaties worden gekozen naar gelang hun geschiedenis en uitstraling.
De kunstenaars worden louter naar de aard van hun oeuvre geselecteerd en hoe het kan communiceren met de ruimte. Andere selectiecriteria worden niet gehanteerd.
De tentoonstellingen worden georganiseerd zonder een sou, met de medewerking van velen, die hier al bij voorbaat van harte worden bedankt voor hun bereidwilligheid en interesse.
In november openen we met de groepstentoonstelling NO COMMENT, op twee locaties in de binnenstad van Gent. In het voorjaar volgt een tweede groepstentoonstelling onder de titel BLACK OUT. Komt dat zien! Kunst voor iedereen.
P.R.E.S.T.I.G.E. emerged as a sideshow during the open studio days of the artist organisation Nucleo in 2012, Ghent, Belgium.
We want to continue the initiative in 2016 with the same group as from the beginning (Nicoline van Stapele and Kristof Van Heeschvelde), joined by Alice Copers and Joris Vermassen. We would like to organise exhibitions on a regular base on different locations in and out of the national boundaries. The locations will be chosen depending on their history and character.
The artists will be selected only by taking the nature of their work in consideration and how it can communicate with the surrounding space. We don’t use other criteria.
The exhibitions are going to be organised without external funding, but with the support of many, to whom we priorly express our gratitude for their helpfulness and interest.
We will start in November with the group exhibition NO COMMENT, on two locations in the heart of Ghent. In springtime, the opening of the second exhibition will follow under the title BLACK OUT.
